foreword & limitations
Cross-border flights to / from Gruyère Airfield are regulated by the convention established in 2009 with the Directorate General of Customs, which provides the Gruyère Airfield with customs competences (category D) limited to :
  • Crews and passengers carrying valid travel documents to enter and stay in Switzerland (visa excluded).
     
  • Flights to / from Schengen states only. 

  • Goods not exceeding the allowances granted in respect of quantity and value (See regulations at www.zoll.admin.ch).

responsibilities
Pilots are responsible to : 
  • Strictly comply with the procedures described below.

  • Apply instructions provided by the Head of Aerodrome or his representatives.

  • Undertake that data transfered to authorities for themselves and for their passengers are correct.

Activation of customs declarations at the Gruyère Airfield is available in accordance with the following schedule :
June to September
October to May

Weekdays from 8:15 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 18:00
Weekdays from 8:15 to 12:00

Saturday, Sunday, public holiday
from 9:00 to 19:00
Please note that the airfield operating hours may vary any time due to the grass runway conditions or weather situation. Activation of customs declarations is provided with no obligation and depending on the availability of the Head of Aerodrome or his representatives. During low period of activities, pilots are therefore encouraged to contact the airfield well in advance to check operating hours.
fees
Pilots using Customs services are required to pay a fee of CHF 10.- for each declaration, on arriving flights as well as on departing flights. Should the airfield staff be required to complete the Customs declaration on behalf of the pilot, an additional fee of CHF 10.- will be required. Special requests are subject to additional fees.

  1. Filing a Customs declaration : By the pilot on Internet at http://www.aerodrome-gruyere.ch/custom 

  2. Activating a Customs declaration : By the pilot at phone number ++41 26 921 00 40, at the earliest 24 hours, but at the latest 1 hour before (if possible 1h. ½) the declared departure time.  

  3. If no Customs or Police agent shows up at the declared departure time, the cross-border flight is considered as authorized.

Please be aware that : 
  • Activating a Customs declaration by SMS or by leaving a message on the answering machine is not allowed

  • No cross-border flight is authorized without prior phone call

  • No cross-border flight may leave before the declared departure time. 

  • Any flight cancellation or delay of 30 minutes or more must be reported by phone at +41 26 921 00 40.

  1. Filing a Customs declaration : By the pilot on Internet at http://www.aerodrome-gruyere.ch/custom 

  2. Activating a Customs declaration : By the pilot at phone number ++41 26 921 00 40, at the earliest 24 hours, but at the latest 2 hours before the declared arrival time 

  3. In case of arrival before the declared time : Aircraft must be parked as instructed by the airfield staff, goods and other belongings must be left on-board, crew and passengers are requested to wait at the C-Office up to the declared arrival time and in accordance with instructions provided by the airfield staff.  

  4. If no Customs or Police agent shows up at the declared arrival time : Entry in Switzerland is considered as authorized. Crew and passengers may leave the airfield with their goods and belongings.  
Please be aware that :  
  • Activating a Customs declaration by SMS or by leaving a message on the answering machine is not allowed.

  • No cross-border flight is authorized without prior phone call. 

  • Pilots are responsible for closing their ATC Flight Plan upon arrival : 0800 437 837
